what is loungeBuddy?

LoungeBuddy offers access to lounges and other premium facilities at airports around the world. Acquired in April 2019, LoungeBuddy is now part of American Express.

As part of a small design team, I have owned the entire design lifecycle across all of our products: e-commerce website, iOS app, lounge check-in experience on iPad, and lounge management and analytics dashboard. Here are some non-NDA projects that I’ve worked on:

Live Capacity Indicator

In the first steps to alleviate overcrowding in lounges, we created an MVP realtime capacity indicator for all Centurion Lounges locations (for example: SFO Centurion Lounge ↗). The goal was to empower customers to make an informed decision to visit the lounges.

Package Selection - Checkout

To provide traveling customers with better instructions, transparency, and delight, we updated the package selection/checkout flow ↗ on the LoungeBuddy website and added a loading popup at the end. As a result, we saw a positive trend in conversion rate and error bookings dropped significantly.

Support Dropdown - Header

We introduced the support dropdown as part of the website header ↗ that exists on all pages. By organizing the help options from least to most effort for our support team, we aim to balance customer needs with internal resources.

App Store Rebrand

In an effort to identify future localization opportunities for the app, we revamped and translated LoungeBuddy's App Store page ↗ for our major international markets.
